BAT CITY REVIEW is an annual literary journal run by graduate students at the University of Texas at Austin.

Bat City publishes only the best in poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and visual art.

We were the first American literary journal to publish poems by Mahmoud Darwish, and our access to materials at the Harry Ransom Center has allowed us to showcase archival photographs of Anne Sexton and drawings by Gerard Manley Hopkins, D.H. Lawrence, and e.e. cummings. Other special features include interviews, commissioned ekphrastic poems, and author portfolios.
